All roads lead to Mbombela, home to the Big
Five, where Army Support Formation Command Cadre
Conference (CCC) took place from 20 August 2017
and finished on 25 August 2017.
The conference chaired by General Officer
Commanding Major General L.C. Nobanda provided a
platform for the SA Army Support Formation staff
to strategies and iron out issues critical to
the successful execution of its mandate, which
is to render an efficient and economically
viable sustenance system to all SA National
Defence Force landward forces.
Officer Commanding Army Support Base (ASB)
Mpumalanga Lieutenant Colonel G.C.F. van Heerden
welcomed the team “Team Significant” at Bundu
Inn Lodge, Mpumalanga.
The Conference started on Monday morning at
07:30. Robustly, as you can imagine the General
Officer Commanding ASB officially opened the
conference and with no delays a strategic
direction on how to approach the formation’s
task, which is to provide first, second and
fourth line support to the SA Army was
revisited. The team addressed challenges that
hinder the smooth sailing of this “ship”.
The conference attended by the General
Officers Commanding (GOC), Officers Commanding
and SA Army Support Formation ( ASF) Head
Quarter’s Command Group, was to ensure that
this” ship” will not sink and it is steered in
the right direction.
The conference ended with a hand over
ceremony by GOC ASF handing over the symbol of
the Command Cadre Conference (CCC) to the unit
that will host the next conference.
