The Chief of the SA Army, Lieutenant General L. Yam warmly welcomed members of the Military Attaché and Advisory Corps during his annual briefing on Friday, 9 June 2017 at SA Army College, Thaba Tshwane. Guests attending were members of the Military Attaché and Advisory Corps and the SA Army Command Cadre.
 
Director SA Army Strategic Direction and Director Army Force Preparation presented to the Military Attaché and Advisory Corps and Chief of the SA Army delivered his address to the guests.
 
The successful presentations of Director SA Army Strategic Director and Director Army Force Preparation again confirmed why the SA Army is internationally recognised and viewed as the force “WE TRAIN AS WE FIGHT”.

During his address Lieutenant General Yam emphasized that the Military Attaché and Advisory Corps Briefing a vital platform is through which our armies and in general – our defence forces are able to share information with mutual benefits, chart intervention measures that would ensure that our cooperation in the field force preparation maintenance of peace and security, military student exchange programmes, sharing of available technologically advanced military hardware and the sharing of best practices is taken to the next level for the collective benefit of our militaries.

Lieutenant General Yam said, “The South African Army understands that it stands to benefit more working with other like-minded armies across the world and greatly values the spirit of comradeship that the Military Attaché and Advisory Corps platform creates. All of us are brought together by a common objective to garner the best possible support for our militaries and the MAAC has always been a platform through which we were able to bring our militaries and countries closer to one another”.
