SA Army Delegates

The SA Army held its Gender Conference on 28 – 29 August 2008 at SA Army Headquarters Assembly Hall. The conference was attended by more than four hundred delegates from different units of the SA Army. Members from other services and divisions were also present.

The Chief of the SA Army, Lieutenant General S.Z. Shoke opened the conference. During his opening address he stressed the importance of this conference to the delegates. He said that the resolutions taken at this conference will be taken into consideration when the SA Army highest body, the Army Council takes decisions on gender issues.

During the conference, various speakers delivered different papers, which were the basis for discussion. The conference ended with outstanding performance from different groups. The delegates were entertained by the National Ceremonial Guard Entertainment Band, SA Army Gymnasium amongst others.

Delegates hailed the Conference as a success, as it was the first conference of this kind in the SA Army.
