“I never saw something like this before,”
said Ms Ntswaki Mofokeng when, she saw multiple
rocket launcher firing during the SA Army
Artillery Open Day in Potchestroom on 23 August
2008.
She was one of the women from government and
non-governmental organizations invited by Chief
of the South African Army, Lieutenant General
S.Z. Shoke to the SA Army Artillery Open Day as
part of women’s month celebration.
The Chief of the Army guests joined other
groups from the Reserves and public who came
from different parts of North West Province to
witness this event. Most of those women had
never seen artillery guns, let alone seen them
firing.
“It was a learning curve for me. I always see
these machine in the movies”, said Sylvia Ndlovu.
The group thanks the Chief of the Army,
Lieutenant General S.Z. Shoke for inviting them
to such an occasion.
