SA Army Exercise SEBOKA is presented annually
to do integration training with the Military
Skills Development System (MSDS) troops.
Evaluation of the integration training is done
by means of a joint exercise.
The Open Day for the SA Army Exercise SEBOKA
took place on 16 October 2008. The day was
presented to both internal and external target
audiences as approved by the Chief of the SA
Army.
The programme for the SA Army Exercise SEBOKA
consisted of the following:
- Exercise SEBOKA briefings at the SA Army
Combat Training Centre, Lohatlha, Northern
Cape.
- Demonstration at the training area.
- Static display.
- Lunch at the SA Army Combat Training
Centre.
- Chief of the SA Army briefing to the
media.
The aim of the SA Army Exercise SEBOKA Open
Day was as follows:
- To present the conventional capability
of the SA Army to external target groups
present as guests or via the media.
- To promote the Military Skills
Development System as part of the new
service system to external target groups.
- To afford the Chief of the SA Army the
opportunity to interact with the media.
The theme for this year’s SA Army Exercise
SEBOKA was “Peace and Security for a Better Life
for All”. The theme underlined the SA Army’s
state of readiness and supported the message of
rejuvenation through the Military Skills
Development System – “The Youth of our Country
Serving the Nation”.
