SA Army Exercise Seboka
8 - 19 October 2007
Lohatlha, Northern Cape

Fire Power Demonstration by Armoured Vehicles at
SA Army Combat Training Centre, Aasvoëlkop
Exercise Seboka is an annual SA Army joint
conventional Exercise. The Exercise is being
held at the SA Army Centre for Combat Training
in Lohatlha in the Northern Cape over the period
8 - 19 October 2007. A force of close to 5 000,
including 18 SA Army units and various support
units from the SA Air Force, SA Navy and the SA
Military Health Service are involved.
The aim of the exercise was to demonstrate
the training of the SA Army units in operational
art, deployment and all aspects of combat
discipline. The exercise also serves as course
support as it gives the students the opportunity
to plan and execute mobile warfare operations
and real time command and control under the
supervision of experienced commanders.
Lieutenant General S.Z. Shoke (Chief of the
SA Army) said that Exercise Seboka went
exceptionally well, despite the tragic incident
and complimented the soldiers and commanders on
excellent result of their hard work in the
rugged terrain of Lohatlha. The excellent
display of soldiership by all the participants
is an apt tribute to those members who lost
their lives.
