FIRST Indoor Shooting Range (ISR)
The upgraded Marksman Trainer Indoor Shooting
Range is a fixed simulator installation at SA
Army Infantry units to be utilised for musketry
training. The marksman Trainer Indoor Shooting
Range is a firing range for rifles and handguns
training with live ammunitions on various types
of digital video and static computer generated
images for targets. The typical layout of the
range looks as follows:
- Fixed building
- Electrical subsystem
- Air conditioning
- Lighting
- Screen
- Bullet Trap
- Extractor filtration system
- Image projector system
- Audio subsystem
- Controller subsystem
- Electronic controls and interfacing
equipment

Strong Points
- The ISR was upgraded during 2002/2003
financial year to a user-friendly system
that satisfies user requirements as defined.
